Garden Children’s Home & School

The Garden Children’s Home and School is an orphanage and school in the low-income district of Riruta, Kawangware in Nairobi.

The children are rescued from the streets; others come from broken homes; others have been orphaned through HIV/AIDS; and yet others rescued from drug addiction. About 150 of them call the school home and the Director and his wife are the only parents they know.

There are about 350 in pre-primary, primary, and high school, ranging from a few weeks to about 20 years old. There are 20 faculty. There are also non-teaching staff such as matrons, watchmen, caregivers, all assisting at the home.

Since introducing Transcendental Meditation in 2019, about 160 students, teachers, and support staff have learnt.
